The Rev. Donald McLellan was born in Kilpheder, S. Uist, on 3rd April, 1854; entered Blairs College on 1st September, 1871; and passed to the Scots College, Valladolid, in August, 1875. He returned to Scotland in bad health in June, 1880, and entered St. Peter’s Seminary, Glasgow, in February, 1881. He received the Tonsure on the 24th, and Minor Orders on the 26th, November, 1881, from Archbishop Eyre; and was ordained Subdeacon on the 26th, and Deacon on the 30th, November, 1882, by Bishop Macdonald at Oban, and Priest on the 3rd December by the same Prelate in the Seminary, Glasgow. He was appointed to the Mission of Eigg.
