Welcome to the Ambrosian Society website. The Ambrosian Society is made up of former students and members of staff, and others interested in the life of the Royal Scots College, Salamanca, and comprises priest and lay members. The Royal Scots College in Spain is a Roman Catholic seminary which prepared students for diocesan priesthood in Scotland.
Our aims are to form a bond of union between former members of the community of the Royal Scots College and to encourage and promote the College for the formation of priests and seminarians for Scotland. At present the College has no students for the priesthood and many parish groups and individuals from Scotland and other places have also experienced retreats and breaks in the Scots College.
This website helps the ambrosianos to strengthen their bond of union and shares something of the experience of living and studying in Spain that has marked our lives.
Present members of the Society include those who have lived in the Scots College in Valladolid (closed and moved in 1988) and the Salamanca College which continued the formation of students for the priesthood from 1988.
If you have photos or memories of the College or other suggestions to contribute to the website please contact the webmaster.
