Duncan MacQueen

(Diocese of Aberdeen) Born in Kintail, 8th August 1853, the son of Duncan MacQueen and Jean MacRae; received subdiaconate from Bp. Serra of Daulia (Perth, Australia) in college church, 20th November 1881; ordained a priest, bishop’s private chapel, Palencia, 25th March 1882, and left for Scotland, 9th April 1882; priest in charge, Inverness, 1889-1918; canon of the Aberdeen chapter and monsignor; died in Inverness, 10th May 1918. Report of the ordination of Duncan McQueen in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1883.

The Rev. Duncan McQueen was born in Kintail on 8th August, 1853; entered Blairs College on 24th July, 1872; and passed to Valladolid in August, 1875. He received the Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 19th, and the Subdiaconate on the 20th, November, 1881, from Mgr. Serra, Bishop of Daulia, in the College Chapel; and was ordained Deacon on the 4th, and Priest on the 25th, March, 1882, by Mgr. Lozano y Terreira, Bishop of Palencia, in the Chapel of his Episcopal Palace. On his return to Scotland he was appointed to Clova.
