(Diocese of Galloway) Born at Lossiemouth, 26th January 1857, the son of Michael Collins and Anne Donavon; left, unordained, 19th March 1879, but readmitted, 27th June 1879; received subdiaconate from Bp. Serra of Daulia (Perth, Australia) in college church, 20th November 1881; ordained a priest in bishop’s private chapel, Palencia, 25th March 1882, and left for Scotland, 9th April 1882; canon of the Galloway chapter; died in Ayr, 4th April 1915. Report of the ordination of Daniel Collins in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1883.

The Rev. Daniel Collins was born at Lossiemouth on 26th January, 1857; entered Blairs College on 24th July, 1871; and was sent to the Scots College, Valladolid, in August, 1875. He received the Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 19th, and the Subdiaconate on the 20th, November, 1881, from Mgr. Serra, Bishop of Daulia, in the College Chapel; and was ordained Deacon on the 4th, and Priest on the 25th, March, 1882, by Mgr. Lozano y Terreira, Bishop of Palencia, in the Chapel of his Episcopal Palace. He returned to Scotland in April, 1882, and after serving for some time at Girvan, was appointed, on 15th July, to the charge of the new Mission of Cumnock.
