John Mackintosh
(Diocese of Argyll and the Isles) Born in Lochaber, 20th April 1859, the son of Donald Mackintosh and Margaret Burton; was at Blairs (1872), Benedictine College, Douai (1877) and Issy (1878), before arriving in Valladolid; received subdiaconate from Bp. Serra of Daulia (Perth, Australia) in college church, 20th November 1881; ordained a priest, Valladolid, 20th August 1882, and left for Scotland, 23rd August 1882; died at Campbeltown, 16th March 1903. The Rev. John Mackintosh was born in Lochaber on 20th April, 1859; entered Blairs College on 5th August, 1872; and was transferred to Douay in 1877, and to Issy in 1878. Having left France in bad health, he was received into the Scots College, Valladolid, in November, 1880. He received the Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 19th, and the Subdiaconate on the 20th, November, 1881, from Mgr. Serra, Bishop of Daulia, in the College Chapel; and was ordained Deacon on the 4th March, 1882, by Mgr. Lozano y Terreira, Bishop of Palencia, in the Chapel of his Episcopal Palace. He was ordained Priest by Mgr. Sanz y Forte, Archbishop of Valladolid, on 20th August, 1882, and after his return to Scotland was appointed assistant Priest at Mingarry.
