Angus Bernard MacEachran (MacEachan, MacEachern)
(Highland District) Born at Moidart, 8th February 1759, the son of Hugh MacEachran; arrived in Valladolid from Samalaman seminary; ordained priest, 20th August 1787, and returned to Scotland where he
was missionary on various islands in the Hebrides; went to Prince Edward Island, 1790;
consecrated titular Bishop of Rosen (with jurisdiction over New Brunswick, Cape Breton
Island and Prince Edward Island), in Quebec, 17th June 1821 (Alexander MacDonell, no. 27,
being one of the co-consecrators); became Bishop of Charlottetown (with jurisdiction over
New Brunswick and Prince Edward Is), 1829; died at Charlottetown, 22nd April 1835.
