Alexander Bisset
(Northern District) Born at Kiltarlity, Inverness-shire, 8/12th May 1839, the son of John Bisset and Mary Chisholm; ordained a priest in the bishop’s private chapel, Valladolid, 21st May 1864, and left for Scotland, 2nd June 1864; made a canon of the Aberdeen chapter; at Nairn from 1891 until his death there, 13th June 1915.

Report of the ordination of Alexander Bisset in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1865.
The Rev. Alexander Bisset was born on the 12th May 1839, in the Parish of Kiltarlity, Inverness-shire, and entered Blairs College 26th July 1856. He was sent to the Scots College of Valladolid, 14th September 1858, where he received the Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 19th, and that of Subdeacon on the 20th February 1864, from the Archbishop of Valladolid. He was ordained Deacon, 12th March, by the Bishop of Avila; and promoted to the Priesthood on the 21st May, same year, by the Archbishop of Valladolid in his private Chapel. He returned to Scotland in June, and after supplying for a few weeks at Fochabers, he was sent to take charge of the Mission of Glengairn, during the absence of the Rev. George Forbes, while engaged in collecting funds for the erection of a new Chapel in that Mission.
