Andrew Barrett
(Eastern District) Born in Dalbeattie, 21st November 1848, the son of John Barrett and Agnes Blavins; left because of ill health, 14th September 1872, but readmitted to Blairs and ordained a priest there by Bp. John MacDonald, 5th March 1874; at Crieff but, later, in a mental asylum; died in Dundee, 29th November 1905.

Report of the ordination of Andrew Barrett in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1875.
The Rev. Andrew Barrett was born at Dalbeattie on the 21st November, 1848; entered Blairs College on the 26th July, 1866; and was sent to the Scots College, Valladolid, in September, 1867. He left Spain in ill-health on the 12th September, 1872, and re entered Blairs College. He received the Tonsure on the 26th, Minor Orders on the 27th, and Sub-Deaconship on the 28th February, 1874, from Bishop Macdonald in Aberdeen; and was ordained Deacon on the 4th, and Priest on the 5th March, by the same Prelate in Blairs College. He was stationed at St. Mary’s, Dundee.
