William Fraser

(Northern District and Diocese of Aberdeen) Born in Strathglass, 10th June 1845, the son of Robert Fraser and Isabel Chisholm; left for Scotland due to ill health, 4th May 1871, but returned to Valladolid, 20th October 1871, and ordained a priest by Cardinal Moreno, Archbishop of Valladolid, 30th May 1874; left again for Scotland, 11th June 1874; died at Fortrose, 13th June 1915.

Report of the ordination of William Fraser in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1875.

The Rev. William Fraser was born in Strathglass on the 10th June, 1845; entered Blairs College on the 2nd August, 1864; and was sent to the Scots College, Valladolid, in September, 1867. In May, 1871, he returned to Scotland in ill-health. On his recovery he resumed his studies in Valladolid, in November. He received the Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 27th February, 1874, from Cardinal Moreno; and was ordained Sub-Deacon on the 28th February, Deacon on the 21st March, and Priest on the 30th May, by the same Prelate. He returned to Scotland in June, 1874, and was stationed at Dufftown.
